What is Cost Sharing?
Cost sharing at Sarah Shields Photography means that the more businesses or parties involved in wanting to use the photos taken during an interior shoot, the lower the cost becomes for each participating party. By splitting the expenses, it not only saves money but also streamlines the process for homeowners as their home is only photographed once. Additionally, it encourages collaboration among businesses by promoting cross-posting and tagging, benefiting everyone involved.
The hiring party, usually the interior designer, coordinates the shoot day with the homeowner and photographer, managing the styling of the home. The pricing structure is based on the number of businesses sharing the costs and the number of image licenses being purchased. For instance, a full-day shoot priced at $2750 could cost $1787 for two businesses sharing the shoot and obtaining two image licenses. See graph below:
Full Day $2750 Cost Sharing Breakdown
$2750, 1 business only, shoot and one image use license
$1787, 2 businesses go in on cost sharing and 2 image licenses
$1466, 3 businesses for cost sharing, includes 3 licenses
$1306, 4 businesses for cost sharing, includes 4 licenses
Half Day $1500 Cost Sharing Breakdown
$1500-1 business only, shoot and one image use license
$975/ea.-2 businesses go in on cost sharing and 2 image licenses
$800/ea.-3 businesses for cost sharing, includes 3 licenses
$712/ea.-4 businesses for cost sharing, includes 4 licenses
An added bonus to cost sharing is that specific requests for certain shots can be accommodated, such as showcasing custom cabinets or providing specific images for a new website's header.
Alternatively, if uncertain about purchasing the full gallery upfront, individual images can be bought later for $250 each after reviewing the completed images.
Overall, cost sharing benefits all parties involved by reducing individual expenses and fostering collaboration.
